Inland Pushboat - Past Reports

Marcon reports 103 push boats officially on the market for sale out of 752 tracked. This is down 10 from our last report published in November 2017. This is four less than one year ago in August 2017 and seven more than in August 2013. Recent increases in coal exports, frac sand transport, and a decent grain market revived demand for hopper barges (and thus push boats).

Marcon was tracking 746 inland river pushboats with 113 officially on the market for sale (95 U.S. flag and 18 foreign flag).

Marcon was tracking 739 inland river pushboats with 107 officially on the market for sale (89 U.S. flag and 18 foreign flag).

Marcon was tracking 730 inland river pushboats with 96 officially on the market for sale (80 U.S. flag and 16 foreign flag).

Of the 13,121 vessels (excluding barges) Marcon currently tracks, 716 are inland river pushboats with 75 officially on the market for sale (62 U.S. flag and 13 foreign flag).

Marcon had 66 inland river pushboats officially on the market for sale out of 709 tracked. The US inland river market remains steady but lackluster overall with continued slowdowns in oil, coal and other commodities.

Marcon had 54 inland river pushboats officially on the market for sale out of 693 tracked. The sale and purchase market remains stable. Prices asked for older tonnage remain fairly high, while newbuilding prices remain stable.
